PSONS Annual Scholarship Opportunities 2026 – Apply Now!

This year is coming to an end, and our Puget Sound Oncology Nursing Chapter is gearing up for a big year ahead with our 2026 Annual Scholarship Opportunities!

Scholarships are open November 1st and close November 30th. Please see our Scholarship Opportunities and details listed below.

Depending on the scholarship, applicants must be an ONS and PSONS member for a minimum of one year at time of application, and is eligible to receive a scholarship from each category only once. Award recipients must agree to be recognized in the PSONS publications.

2026 Scholarships include: 

  • National Oncology Specialty Conferencei.e., Breast, Radiation Oncology, BMT, Hematology, etc. Conference to be attended by December 2026.
    • Two $2,000.00 scholarships are available to support a registered nurse interested in improving cancer care by developing their personal knowledge through attending a national oncology-focused conference and sharing this new knowledge with others. 
  • ONCC Test Registration 
    • Three $300.00 certification registration scholarships for any ONCC-related certification exam are available to support nurses who are committed to oncology nursing. Scholarship recipients will receive registration reimbursement for an ONCC certification initial examination or renewal by Option 1 (ILNA Points). The non-transferable awards must be used for an ONCC certification registration for the year awarded.
  • ONS Congress : 51st Annual ONS Keep Driving Oncology Nursing Forward.  May 13 – 17th, 2026,  San Antonio, TX.
    • Four – $2,000.00 scholarships are available to support a registered nurse interested in improving cancer care by developing their personal knowledge as a result of attending ONS Congress and sharing this new knowledge with others. 
  • PSONS Academic Scholarship – Scholarship to be used by December 2026  
    • Six – $2,000.00 scholarships are available to support a registered nurse interested in advancing their education within the oncology specialty.  The scholarship may be used to purchase books and apply to registration. 
  • PSONS Career Development 
    • Two – $1,500 scholarships to support a registered nurse currently in an oncology nursing management position with two years or less experience and interested in improving their leadership/ management skills to improve cancer care. The scholarship may be used to attend any professional management/leadership development course/seminar.  
  • Oncology Nurse Navigation 
    • Two – $2,000 scholarships to support a registered nurse interested in improving cancer care by developing their personal knowledge as a result of attending a Nurse Navigator Conference, and sharing this new knowledge with others.   
  • OCN Review Course  
    • Two- $350.00 scholarships to support registered nurses who are interested in improving cancer care by developing their knowledge as a result of attending the OCN Review Course, February 28, – March 1, 2026, at Fred Hutchinson Campus, Pelton Auditorium, Seattle, WA, and who will travel 50 miles or more to attend. Scholarship recipients will receive registration and travel reimbursement. 
  • OCN Review Course – Alaska Members 
    • Two – $-1000.00 scholarships to support Alaska PSONS registered nurses interested in improving cancer care by developing their knowledge as a result of attending the OCN Review Course, , February 28, – March 1, 2026, at Fred Hutchinson Campus, Pelton Auditorium, Seattle, WA. Scholarship recipients will receive registration and travel reimbursement.
  • Student Nursing ScholarshipScholarship to be used by December 2026
