At PSONS, we believe that supporting oncology nurses and cancer care professionals isn’t just important – it’s essential.

As cancer care continues to evolve, so does the need for ongoing education, connection, and professional growth. That’s why we’re excited to announce that our 2026 Spring Scholarship Program is now open—with a wide range of opportunities designed to support you wherever you are in your career journey.

Whether you’re just getting started, advancing your education, stepping into leadership, or looking to deepen your expertise, there’s something here for you.

Scholarships are open May 1st and close May 30th. Please see our Scholarship Opportunities and details listed below.

Depending on the scholarship, unless otherwise noted, applicants must be an ONS and PSONS member for a minimum of one year at time of application, and is eligible to receive a scholarship from each category only once. Award recipients must agree to be recognized in the PSONS publications.

2026 Scholarships include: 

  • PSONS Academic Scholarship  Six $2,000.00 scholarships are available to support a registered nurse interested in advancing their education in oncology.  Scholarships may be used to purchase books and apply to registration.
  • Early Career Professional ONS Membership  Five – $109 memberships to support a registered nurse interested in improving cancer care by becoming a new or renewing ONS and PSONS member interested in or working in oncology who has held their RN degree for five years or less. An applicant does not need to be a current or previous ONS member to receive this scholarship. Each recipient will receive an Oncology Nursing Society gift certificate for One Year of Early Career Professional ONS Membership.
  • ONS Membership Ten – $140 memberships to support a registered nurse interested in improving cancer care by becoming a new or renewing ONS and PSONS member, interested in or working in oncology. An applicant does not need to be a current or previous ONS member to receive this scholarship. Each recipient will receive an Oncology Nursing Society gift certificate for One Year of Early Career Professional ONS Membership.
  • Associate ONS Membership Two – $90 memberships to support a non-RN working in a cancer care setting who is interested in improving cancer care by becoming an ONS and PSONS member. Non-RN healthcare professionals receive discounts on ONS products, services, conferences, and ONCC exams. Free subscriptions to ONS Voice, ONF, and CJON. Access to ONS Communities and Membership Directory. Chapter membership. An applicant does not need to be a current or previous ONS member to receive this scholarship. Each recipient will receive an Oncology Nursing Society gift certificate for a one-year membership.
  • Oncology Nurse Navigation One $2,000 scholarships to support a registered nurse interested in improving cancer care by developing their personal knowledge through attending a Nurse Navigator Conference and sharing this new knowledge with others.
  • Non-PSONS Chapter Member Scholarship for the PSONS 47th Annual Oncology Nursing Symposium Two Scholarships up to $1000.00– include symposium registration, food, travel, and lodging to support nurses outside the Puget Sound Region (Eastern and Southwestern Washington, Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Wyoming) in ongoing education, networking, and career development. October 3rd, 2026, at the Tacoma Convention Center, Tacoma, WA
  • Alaska PSONS Chapter Member Scholarship for the PSONS 47th Annual Oncology Nursing Symposium Two Scholarships up to $1500.00– include symposium registration, food, travel, and lodging to support nurses in Alaska in ongoing education, networking, and career development. October 3rd, 2026, at the Tacoma Convention Center, Tacoma, WA.
  • PSONS Career Development One – $1,500 scholarships to support a registered nurse currently in an oncology nursing management position with two years or less experience and interested in improving their leadership/ management skills to improve cancer care. The scholarship may be used to attend any professional management/leadership development course/seminar.
  • ONS Bridge Virtual Conference Five – Registration scholarships to support oncology nurses interested in improving cancer care by developing their personal knowledge as a result of participating in the virtual 2025 ONS Bridge conference on September 9th and 11th, 2025, and sharing their knowledge with others. ONS Bridge registration covers both conference days for ONS members and on-demand access.
  • ONCC Test Registration  Two $300.00 certification registration scholarships for any ONCC-related certification exam are available to support nurses who are committed to oncology nursing. Scholarship recipients will receive registration reimbursement for an ONCC certification initial examination or renewal by Option 1 (ILNA Points). The non-transferable awards must be used for an ONCC certification registration for the year awarded.
  • National Oncology Specialty Conference  i.e., Breast, Radiation Oncology, BMT, Hematology, etc. Conference to be attended by December 2026. One $2,000.00 scholarships are available to support a registered nurse interested in improving cancer care by developing their personal knowledge through attending a national oncology-focused conference and sharing this new knowledge with others.
