As the seasons begin to shift and we move toward autumn, it’s a natural time for reflection. Our chapter is excited to announce a special four-part writing workshop series, created specifically for our oncology nursing community, to provide a structured space for that reflection in community with one another.
This project comes to us thanks to PSONS member Kathy Plakovic, whose passion for supporting her colleagues was sparked after completing The Artist’s Way. She was inspired to create a space for oncology nurses to gather, reflect, and process the profound emotional weight of our work.
As oncology nurses, we carry the stories of our patients and our own experiences. This workshop is designed to help us process these experiences, gain new emotional insights, and develop healthier ways of coping with the demands of our important work. Through a mix of reflective writing and storytelling, we will explore how we can use narrative to protect against burnout and support our well-being.
