2026 Election Positions Roles and Responsibilities

As we look ahead to a new year, we’re excited to announce the upcoming PSONS elections! We’re seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to fill the following positions:

  • President-Elect 
  • Treasurer-Elect
  • Member-at-Large (2 total positions available)

Position Roles & Responsibilities:

President-Elect:

  • Understudy the current President to prepare for leadership in future election season.
  • Collaborate with the President to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
  • Actively participate in chapter committees and board meetings.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the board or ONS National.
  • Step into the role of President as needed, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Three year commitment: 1 year training as President-elect, followed by 2 years as elected President

Treasurer-Elect:

  • Understudy the current Treasurer for one full year to prepare for leadership in future election season
  • Treasurer responsibilities include:
    • Developing and managing chapter budget
    • Overseeing chapter finances
    • Maintain accurate financial records
    • Track all chapter revenues and expenditures
    • Prepare annual treasurer’s report for ONS National
  • Three year commitment: 1 year training as Treasurer-elect, followed by 2 years as elected Treasurer

Member(s) at Large:

  • Contribute to strategic planning and goal setting
  • Represent member interests and advocate for the organization
  • Collaborate on developing position statements and documents
  • 2 year term

All of the above positions are expected to attend at least 4 of our 6 total board meetings held on the first or second Wednesdays from 6-8pm in 2026 in the months of January, March, May (in-person at ONS Congress if able), July, September, and November. Elected positions are also highly encouraged to attend in-person membership engagement or education events throughout the year.
