2025 PSONS Nursing Scholarship Opportunities

This year is coming to an end, and our Puget Sound Oncology Nursing Chapter is gearing up for a big year ahead with our 2025 Annual Scholarship Opportunities!

Scholarships will open Monday, October 21st and close Friday, November 22nd.

Depending on the scholarship, applicants must be an ONS and PSONS member for a minimum of one year at time of application, and is eligible to receive a scholarship from each category only once. Award recipients must agree to be recognized in the PSONS publications.

• National Oncology Specialty Conference – e., Breast, Radiation Oncology, BMT, Hematology, etc. Conference to be attended by December 2024.
• • Two – $2,000.00 scholarship are available to support a registered nurse interested in improving cancer care by developing their personal knowledge as a result of attending a national oncology focused conference and sharing this new knowledge with others.

• ONCC Test Registration
  • Three – $300.00 certification registration scholarships for any ONCC related certification exam are available to support nurses who are committed to oncology nursing. Scholarship recipients will receive registration reimbursement for an ONCC certification initial examination or renewal by Option 1 (ILNA Points). The non-transferable awards must be used for an ONCC certification registration for the year awarded

• ONS Congress 50^th Annual ONS Congress, Celebrating Yesterday Transforming Tomorrow.  April 9 – 13^th, 2025, Denver CO.
  • Four – $2,000.00 scholarships are available to support a registered nurse interested in improving cancer care by developing their personal knowledge as a result of attending ONS Congress and sharing this new knowledge with others.

• ONS Web Based Course
  • Three – $200 ONS Web Based education scholarships are available to support nurses in meeting their personal lifelong learning goals as cancer care evolves with new research outcomes and treatment developments.

• PSONS Academic Scholarship
  • Six – $2,000.00 scholarships are available to support a registered nurse interested in advancing their education within the oncology specialty.  The scholarship may be used to purchase books, apply to registration…..

• PSONS Career Development
  • Two – $1,500 scholarships To support a registered nurse currently in an oncology nursing management position with two years or less experience and interested in improving their leadership/ management skills to improve cancer care. The scholarship may be used to attend any professional management/leadership development course/seminar.

• Oncology Nurse Navigation
  • Two – $2,000 scholarships To support a registered nurse interested in improving cancer care by developing their personal knowledge as a result of attending a Nurse Navigator Conference, and sharing this new knowledge with others.

• Seattle Nursing Research Consortium Workshop (SNRC) April 28^th – 29^th, 2025. Valley Medical Center (MAC Auditorium)
  • Two – $250 Conference Registration Scholarships are available to support nurses in the advancement of evidence-based practice, research, and poster development by attending the SNRC Workshop.

• OCN Review Course
  • Two- $350.00 scholarships to support registered nurses who are interested in improving cancer care by developing their knowledge as a result of attending the OCN Review Course March 1-2 2025, at Kaiser Permanente, Renton, WA, and will travel 50 miles or more to attend. Scholarship recipients will receive registration and travel reimbursement.

  • Two – $-1000.00 scholarships to support Alaska PSONS registered nurses interested in improving cancer care by developing their knowledge as a result of attending the OCN Review Course March 1-2 2025, Kaiser Permanente Renton, WA. Scholarship recipients will receive registration and travel reimbursement.
